This week, we will introduce Headsprout into our weekly homefun routine. Several students placed out of Headsprout and an alternative homefun assignment will be sent home. Parents of students participating in Headsprout should have received an email from Headsprout with directions for home access. Please let me know if you haven't gotten this e-mail.
Our class is in need of ink cartridges for the classroom printer. We use HP Ink #21 and #22. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
We will finally have a special event-free week this week. I will post pictures from all our exciting events soon. I am looking forward to getting back into our normal routines!
In reading, we will be taking a trip into dinosaur times with The Big Circle. Our comprehension focus is sequence and we will write to describe our own dinosaur creations. In grammar, we will finish up looking at proper nouns (ask your child how we say proper nouns!) and begin contractions. In spelling, we will continue focus on the long o vowel with the silent e.
In unit study, we will complete our in-depth look at the parts of a plant. Students are learning the functions and parts of the leaves, roots, flower, and stem.
In math, we are beginning patterns. Students will identify the pattern unit, name and extend patterns, and create their own. Where do you see patterns at home?
